Children’s Orthodontics

Our treatment plans for children cater for a wide range of budgets with NHS Treatment (for those who qualify), Independent Treatment and Private Treatment plans available.

NHS Treatment

At our Northwood and Uxbridge practices we offer a free IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need) screening service for patients who wish to find out if they qualify for NHS treatment without having to wait on NHS waiting lists. We can then refer to the local NHS provider if needed.

NHS treatment is offered at our Hemel Hempstead practice for those patients under 18 years of age, who have a sufficient need for treatment as set out in the NHS Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need(IOTN).

Patients seeking orthodontic treatment on the NHS should ask to be referred to us by their own dentist.

Please visit this page for more information about NHS treatment.

Independent Treatment

Independent Treatment

Independent treatment is offered to those patients under 18 years of age who do not meet the NHS criteria for treatment, and / or who wish for their treatment to be started immediately, without the need to go on a waiting list.

Conventional metal fixed braces are used in Independent Treatment.

Private Treatment

For young patients opting for private treatment we are able to offer an extensive range treatment modalities and appliance types.

This includes the latest technology and low visibility aesthetic braces such as Invisalign clear aligners, Damon clear fixed braces and Lingual braces which are fixed to the inside of the teeth.

Private Treatment

Benefits of Private Treatment

While orthodontics is elective treatment and is usually not essential, the self-confidence that is generated by having even, straight teeth can have an important effect on one’s life.

We provide private orthodontic treatment to all patients. As a private patient you will receive the best possible treatment, using the latest treatment techniques. The benefits of private treatment include:

  • Highest quality treatment carried out in a modern, friendly environment
  • Immediate treatment with no waiting lists
  • Private patients also have a wider selection of appointment times available to them, after school for example
  • Private patients benefit from a wider range of treatments and more modern technology
